Every parent of an adult with disabilities carries the same quiet question: what happens when I’m no longer here? Many of these individuals will outlive the parents who have cared for them their whole lives. And long before that day comes, caregivers grow older, get sick, and need care themselves. When that happens, where do our friends go?
Right now, nothing like this exists on Galveston Island. We believe the island is the perfect place for it because the ocean has a way of healing us all. The sound of the waves, the open sky, the salt air. It calms us, restores us, and brings us together.
A residential home here would give families peace of mind and give our friends a place to keep living, growing, and belonging by the water. It would be something truly unique for Galveston, and it starts with people like you.
